For the operation of formaldehyde equipment, people used to rely on practice inspection and unit combined instrument. Due to the lack of accurate measurement and real-time control of production process parameters, formaldehyde products have high cost, high operating costs and lack of competitiveness in the market. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the operation and control of formaldehyde.
There are two process routes for preparing formaldehyde by air oxidation: 1. The silver process using electrolytic silver and pumice silver as catalyst, when using this method, the concentration of methanol in the raw material mixture is higher than the upper limit of the explosion zone (36%), that is, the operation under the condition of excessive methanol, due to insufficient oxidation reaction, reaction temperature is high (generally 600~720℃), dehydrogenation reaction occurs simultaneously, so it is also called oxidation-dehydrogenation process. 2, Fe2O3-MoO as catalyst for the iron process, this method is in the air – methanol mixture methanol concentration is lower than the lower limit of the explosion zone (less than 6.7%), that is, in the case of excessive air operation, due to excess air, methanol is almost all oxidized, so this method is also called pure oxidation process.
