Allen-Bradley 150-C85NBD is part of the Intelligent Motor Controller Bulletin 150. This motor controller, in particular the SMC-3 motor controller, provides a variety of control modes to effectively control the motor during startup, shutdown and idling.

The line voltage of the motor controller is 200-480VAC and the control voltage is 100-240VAC. It offers a maximum continuous current and output power rating of 85.0A, such as 25 Hp at 200VAC when operating as a line controller, 30 HP at 230 volts AC and 60 HP at 460 volts AC. When operated as A Delta controller, the maximum continuous output current is 147.0 A and the maximum output power is 40 HP230-volt AC 50 HP for 200VAC and 100 HP for 460-volt AC.

The key feature of Allen-Bradley 150-C85NBD is microprocessor-controlled soft start, which internally consists of six SCRS, two of which are installed in each phase to vary the on-off period and control voltage. The 150-C85NBD supports soft start, Kickstart, current limit, glide, and soft stop. SMC-3 Smart motor controllers, such as the 150-C85NBD, are also designed with compact dimensions, safe and simplified setup, and integrated bypasses. Its power supply circuits operate in the voltage range of 200 to 480 volts AC, frequencies of 50 to 60 Hz, input ratings of 85 A, and provide 600 volts AC insulation, 2,200 volts AC dielectric tolerance, 6,000 volts pulse voltage, 1,400 volts repeat peak voltage and 1,000 volts s DV/DT protection, as well as tertiary overvoltage protection.

The 150-C85NBD has a control circuit with 100 to 240 volts of AC operating control voltage. The circuit also provides 1500 volts of AC dielectric tolerance, 250 volts of AC insulation, and a 2.5 kV pulse voltage of 50 to 60 Hz. It has a 250 volt AC auxiliary contact with 250 volt insulation and an electromagnetic control circuit with a single 1A, 240 volt AC normally open relay contact.

The controller operates at 28.3 to 85 A with a maximum power consumption of 82 watts. It operates at a temperature range of -5 to 55 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95% without condensation. The 150-C85NBD has an IP2X rated open housing for use in Level 2 contaminated environments and is UL and CSA compliant. It has a shock and vibration operating capacity of 15 g and 1G respectively, and it is built for installation at a height of 2000 m. The 150-C85NBD is CE, U-UL-USA, CCC and CSA certified and has an overall volume of 72 x 206 x 130mm. Each module has Delta compatibility.
