1746-IV32 Allen-Bradley 24VDC input module

The 1746-IV32 is the SLC 500 32-channel digital input module produced by Allen Bradley. This is a 24V DC current source input module with 32 inputs and 8 common points with fuses, fixed into any slot in the SLC 500 case. Its operating voltage range is 15 to 30V DC at 50°C, 15 to 26.4V DC at 60°C, and the base plate draws current of 0.05A at 5V DC. The 1746-IV32 has a non-replaceable electronic fuse rated 2.5A and offers an 60s 1500V AC test isolation backplane. The signal delay at the input point has a maximum delay time of 3 milliseconds in the on and off state, and the module has a maximum off state current of 1.5 mA. It also has a minimum on state voltage of 15V DC and a maximum off state voltage of 5V DC. The nominal input current of each point is 5.1mA, the maximum heat dissipation of each point is 0.2W, and the total heat dissipation of the whole module is 6.65W. The 1746-IV32 is CE, CSA, and UL certified and offers NEMA standard ICS 2-230 immunity. It is designed and tested to withstand 2.5G operating vibration at 57-200Hz, with a test peak displacement of 0.015 inches, maintaining optimal function even at 30G operating shocks. It operates at temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity range of 5-95%.

The Allen-Bradley 1746-IV32 is a discrete input module that is a component module of the SLC 500 product family. The module is a 24 volt DC source input module, with thirty-two (32) input channels divided into four (4) groups, each group of eight (8) channels.

Each channel of the module operates in the voltage range of 15 to 30 volts DC at 50 degrees Celsius and 15 to 26.4 volts DC at 60 degrees Celsius. Its base plate current consumption is 0.050 amps at 5 volt DC and 0 amps at 24 volt DC, and it is isolated from the channel of the 1500 volt AC base plate for 1 minute.

The module channel has a maximum signal delay of 3 milliseconds for switching on and off. The minimum on-state voltage is 15.0 V DC, while the maximum on-state voltage is 5.0 V DC and the maximum on-state current is 1.5 mA. The module has a nominal input current of 5.1 mA at 24 volts DC. It has a single channel heat dissipation of 0.20 watts and a total heat dissipation of 0.25 watts.

The 1746-IV32 comes in four (4) series, especially series A, B, C and d. Each input common end of the A, B and C series is fitted with a fuse, meaning that four (4) internally mounted non-replaceable fuses are an integral part of the series. D series modules have no internal group fuse.

The 1746-IV32 can be installed in any SLC 500 chassis. Again, it can be used as an input module for any SLC 500 processor. It can also be installed in local I/O racks, extension racks, and distributed I/O racks.
