Technical Description 1746-OW16：
The Allen-Bradley 1746-OW16 is an Allen-Bradley discrete output module for use in the SLC 500 product family. The module is a relay output module, sometimes called a dry contact output module.
The module is very suitable for mixed voltage category applications. Voltage classes, such as DC voltages in the range 5-125 VDC and 5-265 VA. It has two (2) input groups, each with one (1) common terminal. These groups allow one group to operate with DC voltage and the other group to operate with AC voltage. It can also be used with two DC voltages or two AC voltage inputs. The use of this module eliminates the need to implement the insertion circuit.
Rated disconnection current is 15 A and 1.5 A for 120VAC operation. For 240VAC, the rated on current is 7.5 A and off current is 0.75 A. The continuous current for AC operation is 2.5 A. For operation at 125 VDC, the rated on contact is 0.22 A and the rated off contact is 1.2 A. The continuous current is 1.0 A at 125 VDC and 2.0 A at 24VDC. It is recommended to install surge suppression devices outside each channel. The use of these devices can prevent damage to the module, thus extending the service life of the module.
The Allen-Bradley 1746-OW16 is one of Allen-Bradley’s SLC 500 discrete output modules. Sixteen (16) relay contact outputs are used in this module, with two (2) groups of eight (8) contacts per common point.
The installation of the module requires that it not be exposed to chemicals, as chemicals can reduce the sealing performance of the sealing material. Check the module regularly for chemical damage.
The 1746-OW16 has two operating voltages: 5-125V DC and 5-265V DC. Under maximum resistive load, it has a 10 ms signal delay in both on and off state. The 1746-OW16 has a higher backplane current consumption than other relay output modules. At 5V DC, the floor current consumption is 0.17A and at 24V DC, the floor current consumption is 0.18A. It has a minimum load current of 10 mA at 5V DC. The 1746-OW16 has a maximum heat dissipation of 5.7W. Each module has A maximum sustained current of 16 A. Note the continuous current of each module to ensure that the continuous current of each module is limited so that the module power does not exceed 1440VA.
1746-OW16 is easy to use. Therefore, you can use your computer to set up the module. It also has a removable terminal board that allows you to easily connect any cable or jumper to the module. Use sliding latches, screws, threaded connectors, or other connections provided with this product to secure the external connections of the module.
