1756-EN2TR Allen-Bradley Ethernet communication module
The Allen-Bradley 1756-incubed tr is part of the ControlLogix family of communication modules. It is an Ethernet /IP(Ethernet Industrial Protocol) dual port interface communication module. It supports universal messaging, real-time I/O messaging, and information exchange for applications such as real-time control, time synchronization, and motion. The 1756-in-tr also meets CIP security standards by allowing simultaneous transmission of security and control data as well as diagnostic information. It uses advanced communication chips and physical media.
The 1756-sin gent tr module has 10-100 Mbps Ethernet /IP communication rates and uses double copper wires. It supports 256 Logix and 128 TCP/IP communication connections. It can support integrated motion of up to 8 axes over Ethernet /IP networks and consume 1 A current at 5.1V DC. It has a maximum power consumption of 5.1 watts and a heat dissipation of 17.4 BTU/ hour. It can be installed in any slot in the ControlLogix case. For wiring, it uses an unshielded RJ45, Category 5, twisted pair cable connector to interface with the controller. To run an Ethernet /IP network, you need parameters such as an IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. Must be defined.
The 1756-1756 tr bridge has various features, such as support for messaging, distributed I/O, and tagging. It encapsulates the message in the standard TCP/IP protocol. The ControlNet and DeviceNet network protocols allow it to share a common application layer. 1756-1756 tr does not require any scheduling or routing tables to store information. Additional features include explicit protection mode, electronic key, device-level ring network, and parallel redundant protocol network support.
The 1756-in-tr is the ControlLogix Ethernet communication module specifically designed for redundant Ethernet. With embedded dual RJ545 ports, support for Ethernet protocols and 10/100 Mbps transmission speeds, with auto-negotiation capabilities, the module increases the availability of Ethernet networks.
The module supports ring and star topologies and qualified partner devices such as Flex IO, POINT IO redundant Ethernet adapters, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix. The module also supports sending messages to other Allen-Bradley controllers, such as SLC 500, PLC-5, and MicroLogix controllers. It is also compatible with human-machine interface (HMI), monitoring and data acquisition (SCADA) communications with the same Allen-Bradley and even third-party products. It can also work with enclosure partner modules and third-party gateways, converters, and devices.
The module also supports embedded Ethernet communication for computers and programming workstations, so there is no need to purchase an expensive communication adapter to establish a connection to the controller. In addition, the cable required by the module is Class 5 or Class 6 cable, which can be made into communication cable.
The module can establish up to 128 TCP connections simultaneously, while the General Industrial Protocol (CIP) can establish up to 256 connections.
You can use the Allen-Bradley BOOTP-DHCP tool to initially configure or set an IP address. Not only this module, the BOOTP-DHCP tool is used in various Ethernet devices made by Allen-Bradley.
