Technical Description 1761-NET-ENI：

The Allen-Bradley 1761-NET-EN is an Ethernet /IP communication interface. It provides connectivity to Ethernet for CompactLogix, MicroLogix, and SLC 500 devices, as well as other DF1 full-duplex devices. The 1761-NET-ENI has a 100 Base-T port with embedded leds for reliable Ethernet connection. It comes with a visual led indicator that provides easy to view links and send/receive status. It is equipped with an RS-232 port that provides isolation and an automatic baud rate when powered on for detecting communication with the controller port Settings to which it is connected. 1761-NET-ENI provides the ability to force Ethernet up to 11Mbps or 100 Mbps as well as half or full duplex, where the default us auto-negotiates. Configuration on the Ethernet can be done by configuring the security mask provisioning. The most important feature of 1761-NET-ENI is the diagnostic page, which displays important module information and all Ethernet connections in use. One of the biggest advantages of the 1761-NET-ENi communication interface is its high efficiency, providing excellent output at lower power consumption. The 1761-NET-ENI has a maximum operating temperature of O to 70 degrees Celsius and a maximum storage temperature of -45 to 85 degrees Celsius. The most commonly used standards are IEC801-2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Its operating humidity is 5-95% non-condensing. 1761-NET-ENI’s regulations, approvals and certifications include UL, C-UL, CE and Class 1 and 2 certifications; This module provides Ethernet /IP connectivity for all DF1 full-duplex devices, including all MicroLogix and CompactLogix controllers. This Ethernet interface allows you to upload or download programs, communicate between controllers and generate E-mail when connected to non-Ethernet controllers.
The 1761-NET-ENI is an Allen-Bradley Advanced Interface Converter (AIC) that supports DF1-enabled devices such as MicroLogix, CompactLogix, SLC 500, PLC5 and third party devices that can be connected to Ethernet /IP networks. The converter basically allows point-to-point devices to connect to a multi-node communication network.
The 1761-NET-AIC comes with an isolated 8-pin mini DINRS232 port that supports the full-duplex DF1 protocol. Through this port, DF1-enabled devices are connected, while Ethernet is connected through the provided RJ45 port. The interface converter is installed separately from the PLC, so it does not take up slots for modular PLC or expansion modules. It is powered by an input voltage of 24VDC.
The 1761-NET-AC is well suited for multiplexing embedded serial ports of connected devices and allows older controllers to connect to modern Ethernet without adding an Ethernet communication module or replacing an entire controller. This not only saves engineering development time, but also reduces downtime caused by debugging while replacing connected equipment.
The interface converter supports 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity with auto-negotiation and a maximum distance of 100 meters. If longer distances are needed, Ethernet cables can be converted to fiber optics to cover longer distances. The interface converter also provides Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) services. This service can send E-mail messages to any destination in the connected network.
Series A and B interface converters support Ethernet 10-Base-T. The 1761-NET-AIC series C and D support 10/100 Base-T transmission speeds. Converter device compatibility includes all MicroLogix, SLC, PLC-5, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, ControlLogix, and any device capable of implementing DF1 full duplex on an RS-232 port.
