Allen-Bradley 1769-IF16C is a compact I/O module compatible with MicroLogix 1500 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and CompactLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The 1769-IF16C features sixteen (16) single-ended input channels for connecting field instruments to provide a 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA analog current signal to the module’s input channel.

1769-IF16C can be used in field instrumentation interface, such as transmitters, controllers; Accept feedback from variable frequency drivers (VFDS), regulator valves, panel meters, data loggers and similar devices. It can also be used to receive regulated output signals from signal isolators or separators.

The 1769-IF16C has an internal sign-Delta analog-to-digital (ADC) converter. The converter converts the received analog signal into digital data with a resolution of 16 bits when configured as unipolar and 15 bits when configured as bipolar. The module accepts a full scale analog input signal range of 0-21 mA and 3.2-21 mA.

The 1769-IF16C does not require calibration. By configuring the input filter, the module can eliminate noise and ignore unimportant changes.

The 1769-IF16C has a bus current of 190 mah at 5 volt DC and 70 mah at 24 volt DC, and a heat dissipation of 4.0 watts. For 16 Hz, 50 Hz, and 60 Hz optional filters, it has a total input accuracy of 0.5% at 25 C (77 F) and an input drift accuracy of 0.0045%/ C. The nonlinearity is 0.03%, the repeatability of the 16 Hz filter is 0.03%, and the error of the 16 Hz filter module is 1.25%.

The 1769-IF16C input terminals have a maximum overload of 28 mA at 7.0 volts DC and are made with IEC reinforced insulation. The isolation voltage is 30 volts DC. The test input group and the bus are isolated for 1 minute at 710 volts DC/500 volts AC. In panel mounted mode, it has an operating impact rating of 30g for 11ms; On DIN rails, the operating impact rating is 20g and lasts for 11ms. The 1769-IF16C operates in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and ships in a temperature range of approximately -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). It weighs about 281 grams (0.62 lb) and has a shipping size of 118 x 87 x 35 mm (4.65 x 3.43 x 1.38 in).
