Allen-Bradley 1771-A4B is a universal I/O chassis that is part of the 1771 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. This case has sixteen (16) /O slots for housing electronic circuits, especially the backplane, in order to distribute power to the connected modules. It is also the host of the field wiring arm ammonium chain.
The 1771-44B is designed to operate in a temperature range of 32-140 degrees Fahrenheit or 0-60 degrees Celsius, while the hardware is stored at temperatures of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It has a relative humidity of 5-95% and does not condense. When installing this universal I/O chassis, keep panel vibration and shock within 2g, respectively, of 10-500 Hz and 15g, respectively.
The 1771-A4B is capable of receiving power through the 1771 processor, which has an integrated power supply providing 2-4 amps, a power module rated for 3-8 amps, and an external power supply with an output current of 6.5-16 amps. As a general rule, do not install external power supplies and power modules on the 1771-A4B. The power connection is incompatible and will make the hardware configuration unqualified.
The 1771-A4B chassis has 16 /O slots. It measures 12.4x24x7.6 inches. It weighs 14.8 pounds. For installation in the 1771 PLC-5 system, it uses the backplane mounting method, with adequate spacing and an open housing. The chassis backplane has a power supply of 8A at 5VDC.
The 1771-A4B chassis has a common configuration for chassis mounting and system design due to its own consistent design. The 1771/O module is small, flexible and low cost, providing complete digital, analog and intelligent /O modules for a variety of applications. The V/O module is equipped with a wiring arm and remote terminal panel so that the module can be replaced without disconnecting the wire. For troubleshooting and diagnosis, a status indicator is displayed on the front of the module. It can be easily replaced with a larger case for future extensions.
