Technical Description 1771-IXE：
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IXE thermocouple input module is a single slot module that does not require an external power supply. From the case power supply, the module requires 850 mah, which should be calculated based on the sum of all the other modules on the /O case. It detects up to eight differential analog inputs and converts them to values compatible with Allen-Bradley programmable controllers. This 1771, IXE module can be used in any 1771 1/O case except catalog number 1771-AL PLC 2/20 or 2/30.
Thus, 1771 after scanning the analog input, IXE converted the input data to the specified numeric type and transmitted it to the processor’s data table upon request. This input scan will run before block transfer mode is enabled. The minimum interval between block transfer readings is 5ms, which is equal to the total input update time per analog input module. Transfer data from a module using block transfer write instructions, allowing the processor to get input values and state from the module. The analog signals are then converted into binary or BCD formats, which are then stored until the processor requests these transmissions.
There are 8 input channels on the module, which can be configured for thermocouple input range or millivolt input range. The module also features 1℃C temperature resolution, cold junction compensation, millivolt resolution up to 10 microvolts, and user optional high and low temperature alarms. The 1771-IXE input module has a self-diagnosis function and displays a status report when started. Always keep the module away from the high-voltage module and the discrete high-density module to avoid noise interference. In addition, a 50 ft cable length is recommended to help reduce signal attenuation and electrical noise in industrial environments.
