1785-L40C15 Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller

Allen-Bradley 1785-4c 15 is a programmable logic controller (PLC) for the classic PLC5 series. The controller is part of the 1785ControlNet PLC5 programmable controller with dual ControlNet communication interfaces with secondary and tertiary interfaces.
The 1785-4c 15 is designed to meet a maximum controller memory of up to 48k words, capable of handling 2048 /o or 2048 inputs and 2048 outputs in complementary mode. It may install memory modules to meet memory limits. The controller is capable of implementing a distributed)/O architecture and is compatible with a variety of distributed /O platforms such as Bulletin 1771/0, 1794 I/0, 1746VO and 1791 /O modules, including 8, 16, 32, professional and smart modules.
The 1785-4c 15 is equipped with a battery for holding the processor’s random access memory (RAM). The battery has the part number 1770-XYC and can only be replaced when the processor is powered on.
The 1785-4c 15 also supports hot backup systems via the 1785-CBHM or ControlNet hot backup cassette. This module is installed in each ControlNet processor rack for high-speed processor switching and data transfer.
The 1785-4c 15 has built-in communication ports such as serial, Data Highway Plus (DH+), DH using 1785-KA, Remote /O(RIO), and ControlNet. Serial communications support DF1 and ASCl protocols and are commonly used for downloads, uploads, and point-to-point communications. Data Highway Plus and Remote /O protocols are high-speed network protocols that support communication with multiple devices. Similarly, the control network is a network protocol, but the 1785-L40C15 has two (2) control network ports installed and supports a hot backup configuration.
