1797-IE8 Flex Ex Analog input module

Allen-Bradley 1797-IE8 is a Flex Ex analog input module. The module has an intrinsically safe (is) input type and is rated Ex ia IIB/IIC T4 AEx ia IIC T4 Level I, II, III Zone 1 Group A-G T4, The intrinsic safety module type is Ex IB IIB/IIC T4 AEx IB IIC T4 Level I, II, III Area 1 Group A-D T4. 1797-IE8 has eight (8) non-isolated analog input channels. Each channel is individually configured to receive 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA signals with 16-bit resolution. Analog data is internally converted into digital data in a configurable data format. The module has an accuracy of 0.1% of the output signal range at 20°C(68°F) and a temperature drift of 0.05%/C of the output signal range.

Description

1797-IE8 is designed with internal diagnostics to enable the module to detect alarms such as wire breakage detection, over/under range alarms, and remote transmitter alarms. 1797-IE8 requires terminal bases of equal rating. Compatible terminal bases include 1797-TB3 or 1797-TB3S. It cannot be used with a standard Flex I/O terminal base. When establishing the I/O connection to the terminal base, the recommended wire size is 4mm2 (12 AWG), multi-strand copper wire. In addition, the recommended insulation thickness is 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) The key switch of the module is allocated in position 3.
