22-COMM-D Allen-Bradley Communication adapter
RS485 to DeviceNet+ communication adapter that supports explicit messaging and changes to automatic Device replacement (Adr), polling, loop and status data exchange methods, for use with Powerflex Drive 4M-4-40-40P, 400, single node, internal installation
• Added flash PowerFlex 4M drive directly via 22-com-d adapter or indirectly using 22-SCM-232 serial converter module (firmware v2.005 or later). Added Get Scattered(service code 0x32) and Set support for DSI Parameter objects scattered (service code 0x34) services (class ID 0x93). These services allow up to 22 parameters to be read or read in a single explicit message transaction.
• When the adapter is used in Multi-Drive mode, this firmware upgrade corrects communication errors in a network consisting of PowerFlex 4-Class drives, where the total number of parameter groups (Display, Basic programs, advanced programs, etc.) is different. Previous attempts to correct this exception using firmware v1.009 were unsuccessful.
1. Install the flash toolkit utility 22-com-d adapter from the Allen-Bradley Web Updates site. (This will also automatically install the latest version of the ControlFLASH utility on your computer.)
2. You are now ready to use DriveExplorer, DriveExecutive or to update the adapter. Follow the instructions in the guide below are the appropriate sections. Use DriveExplorer Lite/Full
1. After installing the Flash kit (see Installing the Flash Kit), start DriveExplorer and go online (via 22-SCM-232 or 1203-USB converter) using the drive connected to the adapter.
2. In the DriveExplorer tree view, click the 22-com-d DeviceNet module. Then click the information icon shown in Figure 1 to display the adapter’s properties screen.
3. On the 22-com-d properties screen, click the Details TAB. Important: This update may cause the adapter parameters to revert to their default values. You may want to keep your features before using DriveExplorer or HIM CopyCat for configuration upgrades.
4. To start flash update, click flash Update… Button. Follow the on-screen prompts until the flash update process is complete and the new firmware version (v1.010) is displayed. Use DriveExecutive
