The PAC8000 I/O is a fully modular I/O solution suitable for general purpose and hazardous zone applications. It provides a variety of I/O capabilities and has an open architecture that enables communication with a variety of different fieldbuses by selecting the appropriate type of bus interface module (BIM) or controller.
Field terminals (one per I/O module) are clamped into the backplane to accept field wiring without the need for additional terminals or connectors. If damaged in the field, they can easily be replaced. Comprehensive mechanical keylocking system ensures maintenance equipment safety.
The backplane forms the physical and electrical backbone of the PAC8000 by providing a flat plate or mount on a T or G DIN rail. They support and interconnect bus interface modules (BIM) or controllers, power supplies, I/O modules and field terminals, and carry the address lines, data lines and power lines of the internal Railbus
