146031-01 Function Description
TDI comes with built-in static data capture capabilities. However, the channel enable disk is an optional device that also enables the TDI to record dynamic and high-resolution transient data. The 3500 rack contains the communication processing function of the TDI.
The 3500/22M Series transient data interface connects the 3500 monitoring System to Bently Nevada’s System 1 mechanical management software. TDI combines the capabilities of 3500/20 framework interface modules with the data collection capabilities of communication processors such as TDXnet.
The TDI is installed in the edge slot of the 3500 rack along with the M Series monitors (3500/40m, 3500/42m, etc.). The steady-state and transient waveform data are continuously captured and transmitted to the host software over an Ethernet link. By default, TDI captures static data, but installing an additional channel enabler disk also allows you to record dynamic or transient data.
In addition to implementing communications processor capabilities within the 3500 framework, TDI improves on previous communications processors in several ways.
TDI performs certain functions shared by the entire rack; However, TDI is not part of the critical monitoring channel and has no impact on the correct and normal performance of the overall monitoring system. Each rack requires a TDI or RIM. TDI occupies only one slot in the rack and is always in Slo t 1. (next to the power supply).
The 3500 system requires the TMR version of TDI for three-mode redundancy (TMR) applications. In addition to all the normal TDI functions, TMR TDI also performs “monitor channel comparisons.” Monitor voting is performed by the 3500 TMR configuration using the configuration provided in the monitor options. In this way, TMR TDI compares the output of the three redundant monitors in real time.
If TMR determines that information from one of the monitors is no longer equal to information from the other two monitors (within a specified percentage range), it flags that monitor as an error and logs an event in the system event list.
146031-01 is a transient data interface I/O module developed by Bently Nevada. It is a 10Base-T/100Base-TX I/O module component for 3500/22M systems. The 3500 monitoring system and related software (System 1 status monitoring and diagnosis software and 3500 System configuration software) are connected through the transient Data interface (TDI).
