The 3500/15 AC power module and DC power module are half-height modules and must be installed in the designated slots on the left side of the rack. The 3500 rack can contain one or two power supplies in any combination of AC and DC. Either power supply can power an entire rack.
When two power supplies are installed in the rack, the lower power supply slot acts as the primary power supply and the other in the upper slot acts as the backup supply. If installed, the second power supply is a backup to the primary one.
The rack can operate normally as long as the second power supply is installed without shutting down any power supply module. The 3500/15 AC and DC power supplies accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them to acceptable voltages for use by others with the 3500 modules.
Description This option uses a universal AC power source and a universal AC power input module (PIM).
