Description
3500/42M 128229-01 Prox/Seismic I/O Module with Internal Terminations
- (4) Channel Monitor
- Accepts Input from Proximity and Seismic Transducers
- Machinery Protection
- Provides Essential Machine Information
The GE / Bently Nevada 3500/42M Series Proximitor / Seismic Monitors are four-channel monitors
that accept input from proximity and seismic transducers, condition the signal to provide various vibrations
and position measurements, and compares the conditioned signals with user-programmable alarms.
You can program each channel using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to perform the following functions:
Radial vibration, Thrust position, Differential expansion, Eccentricity, REBAM, Acceleration, Velocity, Shaft absolute, and Circular acceptance region.
The primary purpose of the 3500/42M Proximitor / Seismic Monitor is to provide machinery protection by continuously
comparing monitored parameters against configured alarm setpoints to drive alarms. The modules also provide essential machine information for both operations and maintenance personnel.
3500/42M 128229-01 Prox/Seismic I/O module is GE Fanuc Intelligent An I/O (input/output) module from
Platforms (now part of ABB Group) for monitoring and protecting rotating machinery such as turbines, generators
and electric motors. This module is specifically used to monitor the vibration of the bearing (Prox, i.e. proximity sensor
input) as well as the axis speed of the machine (Seismic, commonly referred to as accelerometer input).
Specifically, this module is commonly used in GE Fanuc’s 3500 Series monitoring system, which is a system for
monitoring and protecting rotating machinery. The 3500/42M module is an I/O interface module that receives signals from
field sensors and converts them into digital signals that can be processed by the 3500-series monitoring system.
Prox/Seismic I/O refers to the module’s ability to process both proximity sensor (Prox) and accelerometer (Seismic) input
signals. Proximity sensors are typically used to measure the vibration of rotating machinery, while accelerometers are used to measure the shaft speed of the machine.
This module typically has multiple channels, each of which can be connected to a sensor. Each channel can be configured to
receive a specific type of signal, such as vibration or speed, and can be programmed and configured as needed to meet specific monitoring needs.
Overall, the 3500/42M 128229-01 Prox/Seismic I/O module is an important component of the GE Fanuc 3500 Series monitoring
system, which is responsible for receiving and processing signals from rotating mechanical sensors to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the machine.
