The IS420UCSBH1A controller is another version of the Mark VIe series of UCSB controllers manufactured by General Electric. This controller is described as a Mark VIe or MarkStat controller in GEH-6725 Mark VIe and Mark VIeS Control Devices HazLoc Usage Guide. The device is equipped with a 1200 MHz EP80579 Intel microprocessor. The controller is very similar to the UCSC controller in the Mark VIe series, and although the two controllers have different hardware forms, the software forms on both controllers are nearly identical. Some of the advantages of a controller like this are the lack of batteries and fans and the lack of desired jumper Settings.
The IS420UCSBH1A controller has a variety of leds on the front panel, some of which are:
Displays amber when internal components exceed recommended limits
It indicates the status of the recovery process
When the controller is selected as the controller of the design, the DC displays a steady green LED
ONL, which is always green when the controller is online and running application code
All of the leds listed above are used to indicate the status of controllers, and information about these leds can be found in Chapter VIII of the Mark Viers System Guide to Functional Safety Systems, Volume I of GEH-6855, especially on pages 159 and 160.
The controller also has site-specific certifications and standards required for reliable operation. IS420UCSBH3A controllers require ANSI/ISA-12.12.01-2015 or CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 213-15 when installed in Class I, Zone 2, Group A, B, C, or D.
