Technical Description FCM10E：
FCM10E provides A communication interface between the DIN rail mounted field bus component (FBM) and the I/A series control stations via a high-speed, optional redundant 10Mbps Ethernet-based field bus (see Figure 1). FCM10E converts the 10Mbps Ethernet signal used by the control station to the 2Mbps signal used by FBM, and vice versa, etc. They also provide conversion between a 10Mbps Ethernet-based fieldbus and a 2Mbps component fieldbus.
In a redundant configuration, the FCM10E is used in pairs. A single FCM10E(or pair of FCM10E components) can support up to 30 FBM components.
The compact design and strong pressed aluminum housing of the FCM10E components protect the electronic circuitry from physical damage. Up to 30 FCM1OE pairs can be connected to Ethernet-based fieldbuses.
Specially designed cabinets for the installation of DIN FBM devices provide all levels of environmental protection for fieldbus communication components, even against harsh environments specified by ISA standard S71.04.
The FCM10E can be removed or replaced without removing the power cables and communication cables.
Six light emitting diodes (leds) on the FCM10E Fieldbus communication component panel indicate the status of network activity, read/write control stations and related FBM components, and FCM1OE operating status.
In a redundant configuration, two FCM10E components are required per set of FBM components. In a non-redundant configuration, one FCM10E component is required per set of FBM components. Figure 1 shows the use of FCM10E in a typical subsystem.
Installation of base assembly
The FCM10E is mounted on a pedestal that can be DIN rail mounted or rack mounted. The base includes a signal connector for the fieldbus, power supply, and I/0 cable. A base supports up to eight FBMS or a combination of FCM and FBM.
