269PLUS-DO-120N-120 relay

General Electric Multilin’s 269PLUS-DO-120N-120 is a micro-processor based relay intended to protect and control medium sized AC motors. Part of the 269 PLUS series, this specific model features drawout construction that allows the relay to be removed from its chassis without triggering motor shut-down. This feature enables the unit to be replaced, calibrated, or tested with minimal system downtime. The “120N” designation in the model number refers to the unit’s 120 Ohm Nickel RTD, which monitors temperature within the motor system, including hottest point and ambient air temperature.

Product Description

General Electric Multilin’s 269PLUS-DO-120N-120 is a micro-processor based relay intended to protect and control medium sized AC motors. Part of the 269 PLUS series, this specific model features drawout construction that allows the relay to be removed from its chassis without triggering motor shut-down. This feature enables the unit to be replaced, calibrated, or tested with minimal system downtime. The “120N” designation in the model number refers to the unit’s 120 Ohm Nickel RTD, which monitors temperature within the motor system, including hottest point and ambient air temperature.

The relay contains a number of protective functions that prolong system life and reduce system downtime. The unit’s ground fault protection feature can detect high impedance zero sequence ground faults or residual ground faults and then respond to the event by triggering a trip. Relay tripping can be configured by the user to occur instantaneously or after a time to delay (up to 20 seconds). Other protective functions include stator overtemperature protection, RTD hot motor compensation, exponential cooldown, unbalance protection, rapid trip/mechanical jam protection, and undercurrent protection.

The relay works efficiently with the EnerVista 269 software program, which provides an array of tools that help maximize the efficiency of the relay. The EnerVista Integrator, for example, allows the relay to be smoothly integrated into new or existing industrial systems. The Integrator includes automatic event retrieval, automatic waveform retrieval, GE driver installation, and an OPC/DDE server. More generally, the EnerVista software also enables the trending and exporting of data, editing of system settings, and automatic updating of relevant system documents.
