While motor system management is no easy task, General Electric Multilin’s 369-HI-R-B-0-0 streamlines the process with its adaptive capabilities and advanced metering technology. Designed to safeguard, monitor, and manage medium-sized AC motor systems, the 369-HI-R-B-0-0 has a variety of tools at its disposal (such as rapid-trip procedures and FlexCurve™ technology) to prolong motor life and reduce downtime.
This model also includes optional backspin detection, a feature not included in many other versions of the part. The backspin detection modification, which also includes more general metering capabilities, can detect the flow reversal of a pump motor and then schedule a motor restart at the soonest safe time interval. This process can easily correct the backward rotation and restore proper function to the motor system. This both minimizes downtime and reduces motor damage that would occur if the problem was left unchecked.
The 369-HI-R-B-0-0’s motor health report function is built-in to every version of the model and provides key insight into historical operations of the motor during stopping and starting processes. The following is included in the report:
A historical timeline showing start, restart, stop, alarm, and trip operations
A historical record of all motor trips
Start trend data including voltage, current, current unbalance, thermal capacity used (TCU), and breaker contact status
Motor learned information

The keypad on the front of the HI-R-B-0-0 Multilin is used to enter setpoints for different protection and metering capabilities. The front panel values are able to display motor status, information during troubleshooting, and actual measured values of the relay during motor metering and protection.
