Description
The DS3800NHVD1C1B was developed by GE as a high voltage card for their Mark IV system. This system, which is used for gas/steam turbine control, can automate some processes for more consistent management (cool down, startup, shutdown.) It can also monitor the emissions from air, fuel, and water.
The DS3800NHVD1C1B is milled with oval cutouts on the upper part of the board. These sit parallel to the short ends of the board and to each other. The board also has sixteen factory drill holes along its edge. It is marked for alignment (A-L.)
The DS3800NHVD1C1B has one male vertical multi-pin connector attached to the board. It also has three 4-pin headers. The latter all are placed parallel to the long sides of the DS3800NHVD1C1B. The board also has three transformers, marked 218A4499 P2 C1, two connector points, and three light emitting diodes (LEDs,) which are red.
Carbon composite resistors (CCR) are the preferred type of resistor used on the DS3800NHVD1C1B, but some ceramic-covered metal film resistors have been used. Along the middle of the board, there are six smaller CCRs (banded yellow, purple, black and gold.) Toward the bottom of the board, there are six black CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W CCR resistors. In between these are six paper in oil Sprague 196P104910 capacitors. Other, smaller capacitors are also used on the board. All components are marked.
It is important to note DS3800NHVD1C1B also uses surface wiring in three locations on the board. Six black or white wires (intertwined) connect labeled PTHs (1Wht/2Wht/3Wht/1Blk/2Blk/3Blk.)
