IC660HHM501H Hand-held Monitor (HHM)

GE Fanuc’s IC660HHM501 Hand-held Monitor (HHM) is an interface operating device used to set up, monitor, and configure a Genius I/O and communication system. The HHM can be used as a portable monitoring device if desired by the user. Included in the IC660HHM501’s features is a four-lined LCD display with 16 characters each, language selection display (English, Spanish, French, and Italian), a 20-key sealed membrane keypad, and a keyswitch limits access to operations of certain functions of the device. The ability to communicate with the I/O blocks and force discrete and analog I/O is the primary feature of the HHM, even in the absence of a PLC or computer connected to the bus.

Data for the Genius bus and all its devices are displayed on the screen of the IC660HHM501 to help the user receive and review I/O data for any device on the bus, memory data from CPUs, global data addresses, bus scan time, diagnostics, and descriptions of all devices on the bus.  Operating from its battery pack or AC power, the IC660HHM501 handheld monitor has a required 115/230 VAC at 15% or 47-63 Hz of AC power for the battery charger. Even if using AC power, a battery pack must be installed. Full charge takes approximately six hours. For power conservation, the HHM has an automatic shutoff time of 10 minutes. When continuous operation is required, this feature can be disabled.

The monitor independently weighs 1.6 lbs. and its size is 8.00” x 3.75” x 1.25”. If stored in its protective case, the IC660HHM501 weighs 1.8 lbs. and measures 10.85” x 4.30” x 2.25”. The HHM can be permanently installed using a panel mounting kit and should be installed with access to 115 VAC or 230 VAC power. The acceptable operating temperature range is zero to 60C (32-140F), with a storage temperature range of -40 to +70C (-40 to 158F). Non-condensing humidity should not drop below 5 percent and should not rise above 95 percent.

The IC660HHM501 features an LCD display that is capable of displaying Four (4) lines of information where up to Sixteen (16) characters may be displayed in each line. This provides the user readout and information. As means of interaction, the IC660HHM501 HHM is provided with a Twenty (20) key sealed membrane keypad that is composed of function keys, decimal keys and operation keys. These provided keypad allow users to input the appropriate commands. This HHM is also equipped with a keyswitch to prevent unwanted access to some functions, depending on the selected restrictions. To operate this HHM, external supply voltage is required to be supplied through it power input ports. Appropriate voltage supply is 115VAC or 230VAC. Additionally, the provided battery pack may also be used to power this HHM.

The keypad of the module consists of functions keys, decimal keys, and operation keys for providing reliable operations. The IC660HHM501 hand-held monitor comes with a battery pack that offers up to 6 hours of operation without connected power. It has passed the drop test, in which it is dropped from a height of 4 feet onto a concrete floor. Some of the optional accessories which can be purchased separately for the hand-held monitor are an external HHM connector which can provide a permanent HHM connection on the genius Bus, a 230 Volts AC rated power adapter, extra HHM keys, and a battery charger. The module can be mounted behind the panel by using the metal mounting brackets that are provided. If it is mounted this way, the users must install an extra D-shell connector that is also provided with the module. The IC660HHM501 hand-held monitor is a reliable operator interface device that is made to display I/O data for any connected devices. This data includes the bus data, diagnostics data, the memory data of the CPUs, the bus scan time, and the global data addresses.
