The GE Fanuc IC670MDL241 input module is a discrete input module from the Field Control product series. It is

an AC voltage module with a voltage rating of 240 Volts AC. The 16 input points that it is equipped with are divided

into 2 isolated groups. These isolated input groups both need to draw their power from an external AC power

supply (1 external power supply per group for a total of 2 external power supplies, while the module itself gets its power

from the Bus Interface Unit or BIU that it is installed with. The inputs on the IC670MDL241 module will respond to

voltage levels between 0 and 265 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz. The BIU not only powers the whole module but it can also

provide the module with intelligent processing features like the input configurations. The module can also receive intelligent processing from elsewhere in the system.

The GE Fanuc Field Control IC670MDL241 input module is made to operate within a system of capacitors and resistors

that will provide the module with input filtering by establishing the input thresholds required to provide the filtering. The

complete system also includes optoisolators that provide the isolation between the logic components in the module and the field

inputs, and a data buffer that stores data from all 16 of the module’s inputs. The on response time and off response time

ratings for each input are both 20 milliseconds. The on-state current rating for the IC670MDL241 input module is 4 to 10 milliamps while the off-state current rating is 0 to 1.5 milliamps.
