It can automatically transfer data between PLC tables and DSM302 without any user programming and allows for easy I/O connection through factory cables and terminal blocks. Furthermore, the IC693DSM302 has a serial port to allow the user to connect programming devices. This serial port provides another function – enabling the user to perform”soft“upgrades to the firmware. This is stored in the Flash memory.

The GE Series 90-30 IC693DSM302 motion controller features a short block processing time which is less than 5 milliseconds and the related programming units have the following parameters: -8,388,608 to 8,388,607 user units per second for positioning, 1 to 8,388,607 user units per second for the velocity, and 1 to 134,217,727 user units per second for the acceleration. The IC693DSM302 controller comes with an instruction set that allows the users to take full advantage of all its functions and it provides non-volatile storage for up to 10 programs and 40 subroutines. Other features of the IC693DSM302 controller are automatic data transfer, short motion program support, greater tracking accuracy, improved block starting, user scaling, and servo tuning.
