IC698CMX016-ED  Control memory switch module

The IC698CMX016-ED is a control memory switch module from the PACSystems RX7i platform, part of Emerson Automation,

formerly manufactured by GE Intelligence Platform (GE IP). This module is primarily used to provide deterministic sharing of

data between PLCS and compatible devices over a fiber optic network using reflective storage technology.It is equipped with 16MB SDRAM,

operates at +5VDC, is supplied by the power supply, and the current requirement is 1.8 amps. The module needs

to be mounted to the mainframe rack and connected to slot 3 or 4. It uses fiber LC type with insertion loss of 0.35 dB (maximum) and return loss of -30dB.

The component is essentially a storage module, however, the main function of the IC698CMX016 is to provide deterministic data

sharing between the PLC and compatible devices over a fiber optic network using reflective memory technology. The memory

module is capable of communicating with up to 256 nodes per network and supports redundant transport mode operation.
