The SR489-CASE is just the casing unit for the 489 Generator Management Relay series.
Please ensure when the relay is in the case there is no door interference. Interference with
the door during the operation could cause potential damage to the case.

SR489-CASE is a a companion case for the generator management relay in the GE Multilin 489 series. This case has a full drawout (automatic CT shorts), a seal provision, and a dust tight door. The IP class for this case is IP10A. This unit may be mounted on a 19 inch rack mount or on a panel. Provision must be made for the front door to swing open without interference to, or from, adjacent equipment. Applying firm pressure on the front to ensure the front bezel fits snugly against the front of the panel, bend out the pair of retaining tabs (to a horizontal position) from each side of the case. Once the case is mounted with the relay, it is ready for panel wiring.
While the case is an important element within the 489 Generator Management Relay series sometimes there are problems regarding the door. If there is any potential interference the door could be damaged and could potentially crack and break.
