PCIE-6351  X Series Multifunction I/O Device

The PCIe-6351 (Part number: 781048-01) is an X Series Multifunction I/O Device manufactured by

National Instruments. The device meets EMC standards, which are essential for electrical equipment

used in the lab. These standards are also essential for control and measurement purposes. National

Instruments is dedicated to planning and developing reliable products. The NI PCIe-6351 is manufactured in the same way.

Instruments PCIe-6351 is featured with a PCI Express Interface, which is compatible

with 1 to 16 PCI Express slots. It enables the device to deliver up to 16 digital input and 8 digital output

lines through the DMA channels. The NI device has 16 differential or 8 single-ended analog input

channels (with a 16-bit resolution and a maximum sample rate of 1.25 MS per second), and 2 analog

output channels–equally with a 16-bit resolution and a maximum sample rate of 2.86 MS per second. The

NI PCIe-6351 also has external digital triggers which are workable through any PFI or RSTI. These

triggers have software-selectable polarity for many signals. The external digital triggers have analog inputs and outputs. 

These inputs and outputs enable the device to direct and break the triggers. It can also be used as

a sample clock timebase and a sample clock. The NI PCIe-6351 can generate the trigger with another

device bus interface. It uses RSTI as the input and output medium. The device also has on phase locked loop, and is equipped with a 68-pin VHDCI I/O connector.

The PCIe-6351 is operated using the NI-DAQmx 9.0 driver software which is compatible with an

application development environment like LabVIEW or other software choices.

National Instruments PCIe-6351 has four 32‑bit counters/timers for event counting and PWM,

which operate at a frequency of 100 MHz. These are also included for frequency, encoder, and

much more. Additionally, it has 1 frequency generator channel. This device provides excellent

performance through driver and application software. It is also structured with NI-STC3 technology.
