The National Instruments PXIe-2593 (Part Number: 780587-93) is a high-density, 50 Ω RF
Multiplexer Switch Module, which can be configured in several ways: as an unterminated multiplexer,
an externally terminated multiplexer, or a dimensionally versatile sparse matrix. Each configuration
handles signal frequencies from DC to beyond 500 MHz. The NI PXIe-2593 Multiplexer Switch
Module is well-suited for signal generation in high-channel-count applications to various test points on
devices or units under test (DUTs or UUTs). This module allows users to link multiple inputs to one
output or to one input, to make wiring in automated test systems a simpler process.
PXIE-2593
The PXIe-2593 is a one-slot PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module designed to integrate with high-frequency
instruments such as the NI PXI-5404 frequency generator and the NI PXI-5112 high-speed digitizer. The NI
PXIe-2593 has 16 channels with an external 50 Ω MCX terminator on half of the channels, allowing the user
to utilize this module as a terminated multiplexer. The PXIe-2593 can be configured as quad 3×1 multiplexers
using its 16 channels. The PXIe 2593 module has a minimum switch load of 10 μA, 10 mV and a maximum
RF carry power from 10 W up to 500 MHz (per channel).
While maintaining a bandwidth lower than 500 MHz, the NI PXIe 2593 Multiplexer Switch Module can
be configured as a versatile sparse matrix. This is useful when the need arises to route signals between any pair of channels or commons.
