A100 Supermicro NV server NVIDIA

Extraordinary data center scalability with NVIDIA Networks The NVIDIA DGX A100 is equipped with the fastest I/O architecture in all DGX systems. It is the building block of large AI clusters such as NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD™, which provides the enterprise blueprint for a scalable AI infrastructure. The DGX A100 has eight single-port NVIDIA ConnectX®-7 InfiniBand network cards for clustering, and up to two dual-port CONNECTX-7 VPI (InfiniBand or Ethernet) network cards for storage and networking. Both are capable of speeds up to 200 Gb/s. By connecting the ConnectX-7 to an NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand switch, DGX SuperPOD can be built with fewer switches and cables, saving CAPEX and OPEX on your data center infrastructure. With a powerful combination of massive GPU-accelerated computing and state-of-the-art networking hardware and software optimization, the DGX A100 scales to hundreds or even thousands of nodes to tackle tougher challenges such as conversational AI and large-scale image classification.

Description

The NVIDIA DGX A100 is equipped with eight NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core Gpus for acceleration and is fully optimized for NVIDIA CUDA-X™ software and a complete set of end-to-end NVIDIA data center solutions. The NVIDIA A100 GPU introduces Tensor Float 32 (TF32) precision, the default precision format for TensorFlow and PyTorch AI frameworks. The TF32 works similarly to the FP32, but delivers up to 20 times AI floating-point operations per second (FLOPS) performance compared to the previous generation. Best of all, this kind of acceleration does not require any code changes. The A100 80GB GPU delivers a 30% increase in GPU memory bandwidth over the A100 40GB GPU, reaching global leadership at more than 2 terabytes per second (2TB/s).

A100-PCIE

In addition, compared to the previous generation of NVIDIA Gpus, the A100 GPU has a large on-chip memory, including 40 MB of secondary cache, which is nearly 7 times larger to maximize computing performance. The DGX A100 also debuts the third-generation NVIDIA® NVLink®, which doubles the GPU-to-GPU direct bandwidth to 600 gigabytes per second (GB/s), almost 10 times higher than PCIe 4.0. In addition, the new NVIDIA NVSwitch™ is twice as fast as the previous generation. This powerful performance enables users to solve problems faster and solve previously unsolvable problems. More Secure Enterprise AI Systems NVIDIA DGX A100 protects all major hardware and software components with a multi-tiered architecture to ensure that AI enterprises are in a stable state of security. The DGX A100 has built-in security mechanisms covering baseboard management controllers (BMCS), CPU boards, GPU boards, and self-encrypting drivers that help IT staff focus on AI operations without having to spend time assessing and responding to security threats.
