MVI56E-SIE Siemens Industrial Ethernet Communication Module
The MVI56E-SIE module from ProSoft Technology is a Siemens industrial Ethernet client communication
module that is made for ControlLogix systems. It allows ControlLogix PACs (programmable automation
controllers) to interface as Ethernet clients with up to 20 Siemens S7-200, S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, and
S7-1500 PLCs which are working as Ethernet servers. The module is certified by the RoHS, CE, and IECEx
standards. The following components are shipped with the MVI56E-SIE module: one 5-foot Ethernet cable
(with straight-through configuration) and either a ProSoft solutions CD or a ProSoft solutions DVD which contains
the configuration tools for the module. The MVI56E-SIE module uses the ProSoft Configuration builder for the
management of configuration files through a graphic configuration tool and it also allows for viewing module diagnostics information.
The MVI56E-SIE module is a single-slot 1756 ControlLogix backplane compatible. The current load of the
module is 800 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and 3 milliamps at 23 Volts DC. The module supports 10/100 Mbps
Ethernet with auto crossover detection. The Ethernet interface is the RJ-45 interface with LED indicators for
links and activity. A 4-character, alpha-numeric LED display on the module can be used for the display of
status and diagnostics information. LED indicators are also provided on the module for the display of the
battery status, application status, and module status. The operating temperature range for the MVI56E-SIE
module is from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and the storage temperature range is from -40 to 185 degrees
Fahrenheit. The vibration rating for the module is 5 G from 10 Hertz to 150 Hertz. The operating shock rating is 30 G.
