The 57C463 is a Frequency Event Counter Module that was made to go within an AutoMax system. Most of the needed things for this card to function must be ordered separately. This includes the module’s operating system, the cable connection and DIN-style termination panel, the encoder cable, and event input cables. This module functions as a slave only system in a Multibus. It does not have the power to read or write information onto an I/O. This type of sensor has the capability to use up to 16 0-5VDC to 0-24 VDC digital inputs. This module uses a specific algorithm to determine patterns and has the capacity to match those patterns.

The 57C463 has a very simple faceplate. It had two LEDs on it that indicates that the card is ok and one that indicated the OS is ok. The card ok LED is used to see that the card has passed all of the start-up self-diagnostics. The OS ok LED will glow when it detects that the operating system for the module is loaded and working properly. It has two female RS-232 connection ports that are labeled pulse tach input and event inputs. The pulse tach input is used to connect the encoder cable. The event inputs are used for different digital sensor inputs. This module should be mounted to a rail or to a flat surface.
