The Modicon 140ACI04000 Module Option Processor, manufactured by Schneider Electric, offers a family of controllers that quantum meets the needs of high availability and security critical process applications. The heart of the system is the standby controller, which has the current system state that automatically switches over in the event of a primary controller failure. This means that critical processes are not affected by hardware failures in the control system. The result is increased productivity and reduced downtime.

Configuration and setup

At the beginning of each master controller scan, the current register and I/O status table are transmitted to the hot standby via a high-speed, secure fiber optic communication link. In the event of a primary controller failure, the alternate option processor uses the latest version control system input-output and registration status information to achieve a interference-free, controlled delivery with minimal process impact. Intolerance of any control interruptions to critical processes ensures fast, smooth switching, allowing 140ACI04000 resolution.

The Modicon Quantum 140ACI04000 analog input module provides 16 channels. Each channel can be configured individually to 0… 25 mA, 0… 20mA or 4… 20mA signal. 140ACI04000 module available in 4… It has the function of line break detection in 20mA current mode.

Quantum Detachable terminal board, part number 140XTS00200 for easy maintenance. The terminal board is attached with two screws and can easily be used with any input/output module in the Quantum series.

All Quantum I/O modules, including the 140ACI04000, are optically isolated from the bus to ensure safe and trouble-free operation. This isolation also allows modules to be hot-swappable.

Optionally, you can insert a mechanical key between the I/O module and the terminal board to ensure that the terminal board ensures the correct match of field wiring and module types. The key code is unique for each module type, and each I/O module comes with a key package.

As an option, the module can be ordered with conformal coating with the part number changed to 140ACI04000C. The coating protects the module’s internal circuitry from corrosive gases such as chlorine, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.

The Schneider Electric 140ACI04000 comes with a two-year warranty.
