140NRP95400 Schneider Optical fiber repeater module
The Modicon Quantum RIO network is a high-speed (1.544 Mbit/s) local area network (LAN) using coaxial cable. The RIO network enables PLC to communicate with one or more Io module substations located in a local area, such as a manufacturing or processing site.
Multiple local topologies are available for the RIO network:
· Linear cable topology (For information on the RIO coaxial cable network, see the Remote IO Cable System Planning and Installation Guide):
Standard single-cable RIO cable system
● Redundant RIO cable system double cable system
Hot Spare cable topology (For information on hot spare coaxial cable networks, see the Modicon Quantum Hot Spare System User Manual):

· Redundant hot spare cable system The infrastructure of the RIO cable system is shown as follows: The RIO processor is called the master station
● The network consists of one (linear) or two (dual or redundant > trunk cables
The branch is mounted along the trunk cable, and the substation cable is connected from the branch to the substation adapter. Correct impedance matching throughout the network is maintained by a 75Q mainline terminator.
Plug in the 140NRP95400 fiber repeater
When cable is inserted into the RIO network, it can:
· Extend the total length of the RIO network, such as the RIO sub-stations in various areas at the edge of the plant, without exceeding coax
Attenuation limits for cable systems.
Significantly improve the noise immunity characteristics of installed equipment.
Create a topology that will not work properly with a single coaxial cable.
Solve long distance grounding problems, for example, when different ground reference points must be used between two buildings. In addition to the general applications listed above, there are also the following applications:
· Inserting a 140NRP95400 fiber repeater into an existing RIO network that already uses a 49ONRP954 fiber repeater can extend the RIO network without causing pulsewidth distortion (or jitter).
Replacing 490NRP954 with 140NRP95400 fiber repeater can improve the diagnostic capability and EMC tolerance of broken fiber optic cables in the RIO network.
