Tricon 4509 Hiway Interface Module

The Model 4509 Hiway Interface module (HIM) serves as an interface in the Tricon controller and Honeywell TDC-3000 control system through the highway access and Local Control Network (LCN). He can also interface with Honeywell’s older TDC 2000 control system via data channels. He supports high level devices on LCN or Data Hiway, such as computers and operating workstations. Contact Tricon. It allows redundant BNCS to connect directly to the data highway with four extended Data highway port (DHP) addresses with the same functional capability. HIM provides eight Hiway addresses that implement the same slot structure for DHPS, typically refreshing all data seconds in less than 0.5. Hot spare enables online replacement of faulty components.

NCM provides two BNC connectors as ports :NET 1 supports peer to peer and time synchronization protocols for secure network composition Tricons. NET 2 supports networking to external systems using Triconex applications, such as trstation 1131, SOE, OPC Server, and DDE servers, or user-written applications. NCM supports Ethernet interface (IEEE 802.3 electrical interface) and runs at 10 megabits per second. The NCM connects to the external mainframe via coaxial cable (RG58), typically up to 607 feet (185 m) away. Distances up to 2.5 miles (4,000 m) are available with Repeaters and standard (thick mesh or fiber optic cable). The main processor typically refreshes the data on the NCM with each scan.
