Product Model 8237-1245 is Woodward’s ProTech detection system. It is compatible with hydraulic, gas and steam turbines and is able to shut them down safely. The product uses a three-choice two-voting architecture with three non-voting trip relays output. Model 8237-1245 is a panel mount that provides overspeed protection for certain types of turbines. It has a high voltage and low voltage input. This model uses Modbus communication and has speed readings of 4-20 mA. It can be configured to run conventional speed tests on turbines.
It can be used in 3C2 environment and is resistant to sulfur. The conformal coating protects against H2S and sulfur dioxide gases. The three-module design of the Model 8237-1245 makes it easy to replace one of the modules when using the turbine.
