The development of Marine power system has experienced three main stages: steam power plant, steam

turbine power plant and the current mainstream diesel power plant. Compared with conventional diesel engine

mechanical propulsion, the new pure electric propulsion has the following advantages:

(1) Good economy. Taking tugboat as an example, it is estimated that the power consumption of a pure electric ship

within 30 years of service life can save the cost of a conventional tugboat, and the economy is considerable.

(2) Good maneuverability. The speed of the propulsion motor of the pure electric ship is easy to adjust, and the propeller adopts

the full rotary design, which can provide constant torque at various speeds of positive and negative rotation, so that the best

working characteristics can be obtained. Specifically, the ship comes fast, which is more conducive to the instantaneous control of the ship.

(3) Strong reliability. The ship propelled by diesel engine, once the main engine important components or steering gear,

auxiliary machinery failure often cause the ship paralysis. The pure electric propulsion ship uses multiple battery packs as

energy and mutual backup, and the battery management system can isolate the fault group in time without affecting the normal power supply of other battery packs.

(4) High space utilization rate. The length of traditional ship shafting often accounts for about 40% of the ship’s length. Pure

electric propulsion ships replace traditional transmission shafting, generators, oil distributors, oil tanks, oil-fired boilers and other

equipment and facilities as well as fuel pipelines, improving the arrangement of the engine room and making more reasonable use of the engine room space.

(5) Good environmental performance. Pure electric propulsion ships greatly reduce on-board vibration and noise, improve the

comfort of crew and passengers, and emit no air pollutants during operation, reducing the possibility of fuel oil pollution in the waters.

After the battery reaches its service life, the manufacturer recyles and centralizes the waste battery to avoid ecological environmental pollution.
