9907-1200 CPC-II is an electro-hydraulic pressure

CPC-II is an electro-hydraulic pressure regulating valve controller that uses a high-precision internal

pressure sensor and PID controller to achieve accurate control of steam turbines. CPC-II consists of a

valve-actuator assembly, a pressure sensor, and an electronic drive module. The electronic drive module

accepts one (or two)4-20 MA pressure setpoints and compares these setpoints with the oil pressure

measured by the sensor to precisely control the oil pressure of the turbine valve.

Description

9907-1200 CPC-II is an electro-hydraulic pressure

CPC-II is an electro-hydraulic pressure regulating valve controller that uses a high-precision internal

pressure sensor and PID controller to achieve accurate control of steam turbines. CPC-II consists of a

valve-actuator assembly, a pressure sensor, and an electronic drive module. The electronic drive module

accepts one (or two)4-20 MA pressure setpoints and compares these setpoints with the oil pressure

measured by the sensor to precisely control the oil pressure of the turbine valve.
The CPC-II controller oil pressure is output through the oil supply end to the control oil pressure output

end (turbine regulating valve control oil) or back to the system oil station. The converter’s unique PID

system allows it to provide stable pressure control under normal conditions, with a millisecond response

to step changes in valve position in system or power transient conditions. As a way to protect the turbine,

in the event of any internal equipment failure (power input failure, pressure sensor failure, processor

failure, etc.), the internal valve return spring forces the CPC-II to the fail-safe position (oil guide to drain end) and safely closes the turbine control valve.

The manual pull valve function allows the user to manually force the CPC-II output pressure

through an internal adjustment knob. Security logic is designed to prevent users from unintentionally

enabling this function during normal use. Manual valve pulling can also be implemented locally or remotely using the CPC-II PCI TOOL.
Flow through single and segmented admission valves tends to be non-linear over the flow capacity,

and the turbine controller is usually adjustable to compensate for unstable or slow control operating

points. As an optimization approach to turbine control, CPC-II includes an 11-point linear optimization table

that allows 0EM manufacturers or users to compensate for nonlinear valve flow by digitally linearizing valve flow relationships.
Many turbine users use several pressure converters to increase system reliability because this type of

application tends to cause oil clogging from the equipment, so a “dirt loose” function is specially designed, which is also configurable to remove internal sludge.
