This Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE is a high-speed counter module for the SLC 500 system. This SLC 500 family provides flexibility and efficiency through the use of a wide range of features and options, enabling you to maximize productivity and revenue while utilizing your existing equipment. The 1746-HSCE is available for SLC 5/02 and later processors. Counting high speed inputs from orthogonal encoders and various high speed switches 1746-HSCE is bidirectional. By accepting pulse frequencies of up to 50k Hz in a single channel, the module allows precise control of high-speed motion. This 1746-HSCE has cumulative counts and provides rate measurements in Hertz. It uses a fixed time period to determine the rate measurement. The rate period ranges from 10 milliseconds to 2.55 seconds and is dynamic.

The 1746-HSCE is available in 3 modes, including range, rate, and sequencer, allowing you to choose the best mode for your application. There are 4 collector open-circuit outputs for additional control outside the SLC processor. The maximum input frequency is 50 kHz. The 1746-HSCE requires a power supply in the form of 5V DC and 24V DC, obtained from the baseplate of the SLC controller, drawing 5V current at 320mA and 24V current at 0mA. Never replace or disconnect components without turning off the power.

The 1746-HSCE operates at 0-60°C(32-140°F) with a relative humidity of 5-95% and no condensation.
