Technical Description 1746-IB32：

The Allen-Bradley 1746-B32 is an SLC 500 discrete input module. The module is rated for 24VDC and ranges from 15-30V DC at 50 °C(122*F) to 15-26.4V DC at 60°C(140’F). The module is commonly used to connect electrical devices such as switches, sensors, auxiliary contacts, and other binary or on/off devices. Up to thirty-two (2) input signals can be connected to the module through embedded 32 input module channels.
It is compatible for use with any SLC 500 processor, preferably with SLC 50O modular style hardware. It supports installation locally along the controller, to an extended I/O rack, or to a remote I/O chassis along the SLC 500 communication adapter. It is installed directly into any available slot in the 1746 chassis except slot 1, which is reserved for the SLC 500 controller.
The backplane of the 1746-B32 has a 50mA(5VDC) maximum off state input voltage of 5VDC, a nominal input current of 5.1mA(4V DC) maximum off state input current of 1.5 mA, and a typical signal delay of 8 ms(on critical and off to on signal transition).
When installing the module, be sure to disconnect the chassis from the power supply, as this module does not support removal and insertion when powered on (RIUP). It comes with a detachable patch board that allows for removal from module wiring and simplifies maintenance, as RTB allows the insertion of another module of the same type.
The 1746-IB32 provides isolation from the backplane between the backplane and the /O, has been tested for 60 seconds at 1500 volts AC, and has 1500 volts AC dielectric tolerance. In the on state, the minimum voltage at both ends of the circuit is 15.0 volts DC. In the off state, the maximum voltage drops to 5.0 volts DC and the maximum leakage current is 1.5 mA. In on and off mode, the maximum signal delay time at the input of the 1746-B32 module is 3ms, and the total nominal input current is 5.1 mA at 24 volts DC nominal voltage. The 1746-B32 has an operating temperature range of O to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Celsius) at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, operating vibration tolerance of 1G at 5 to 200 Hz, and impact rating of 30G.
