Technical Description 1747-L514：

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L514 is an SLC 500 processor unit. Also known as the SLC 5/01 controller, the module is a single slot wide controller. It is installed in slot O of any 1746 modular case. It comes with 4K user memory and embedded DH-485 communication interface.
The 1747-L514 is designed for small and medium-sized automation requirements. It is capable of controlling up to 30 /O modules and can be distributed to up to three 1746 cases. The SLC 50O controller supports the implementation of extended I/O and remote I/O chassis using a variety of supported communication adapters.
The 1747-514 has a current load of 0.090 at 5v DC. It has a minimum power consumption of 1.75 watts. The embedded DH-485 port supports the use of 1761-NET-AIC or Advanced Interface Converter (AIC) modules. In addition, memory tables of SLC 5/01 can be accessed using the Allen-Bradley Data Table Access Module (DTAM).
Optional non-volatile memory can be installed in the 1747-L514. Nonvolatile memory is a form of electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM). Compatible EPROMs are 1747-m1 with 1K user word EEPROM, 1747-M2 with 4K user word EEPROM, and 1747-M5 storage module adapter socket. EPROM modules can be used to burn programs stored in Random access memory (BAM) built-in memory. By burning the program to nonvolatile memory, user programs can be loaded automatically once the controller is cyclically powered.
It uses a 1747-BA lithium battery assembly with a capacitor life of 30 minutes and a lithium battery with a life of 2 years as a backup power source for the standard RAM. The 1747-L514 has a maximum bit execution time of 4 s and a total module scan time of 8ms/K. During a temporary power outage, program scanning on the module can take anywhere from 20ms to 3s, depending on the power source being loaded. It comes with a basic DH-485 communication capability and can only operate in a slave capacity (receive) in programming channels. The ambient operating temperature range of the 1747-514 is 0-60C(32-140F) and the non-condensing relative humidity range is 5-95%. The 1747-514 is designed to withstand operating shocks of 30 grams and vibrations of 2.5 grams at 57-2000 Hz. The 1747-L514 is C-UL, UL and CE certified and it provides the NEMA standard ICS 2-230 industrial immunity.
