The Allen-Bradley 1747-L532 is an SLC 5/03 processor that is part of the SLC 500 system. It is a small, simple, pocket processor with a wide range of applications, such as small process control, material handling, and HVAC control. It contains an advanced instruction set based on the PLC-5 processor. It can be independent or distributed throughout the SCADA application. The 1747-L532 processor’s total user memory is 16K words, of which 12K words are for data/programs and 4K words are for data only. It has up to 4096 inputs, 4096 outputs, and 480 local emulation/OS. It has a program scan time of 1 millisecond per keyword. The base plate current of the 1747-L532 is 500 mah at 5 volt DC and 175 mah at 24 volt DC. It has up to 2 local /O cases and up to 30 module l/O slots in one local /O case.
For communication, it uses the DH-485 and RS-232 ports and can be configured to connect to the 1761-NET-AC converter. It has standard battery-powered RAM and flash backup memory. Using this processor, a remote V/O scanner module and a DeviceNet scanner module can be installed to configure /O via a universal remote link or a DeviceNet network. The 1747-532 processor offers a bit instruction execution time of 0.44 milliseconds, 10 times that of its competitors. It has various additional features such as online programming, flash upgrades, floating-point math, built-in real-time clock, key switches, and calendar. 1747-532 Suitable for clean and dry industrial environment, operating temperature 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, working impact of 30 grams.
The 1747-L532 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is the SLC 500 processor, also known as the SLC5/03 controller. The controller is designed to work with the modular SLC 500 series manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This specific controller is capable of executing both basic and advanced instructions, allowing any user to construct simple user programs into complex control logic. These instructions include bit, timer, controller, compare, basic math, move, copy and bit shift, sequencer, jump and subroutine, message, STI, FIFO/LIFO, PID, advanced math and Trig instructions.
The integrated communication port of the controller is an RS232 port that can be configured as either DF1 or DH485, both suitable for point-to-point applications. The default configuration of RS232 is DF1 full duplex, handshakes disabled, communication rate 19.2 kilopold, CRC error checking, repeat packet detection enabled, and parity check set to none. It is also possible to automate detection in RSLinx communication tools by automatically configuring driver mode. The default setting for port 1DH485 on channel 1DH485 is 19.2 kbaud and the node address is 1.
The SLC 5/03 processor has 16KB of integrated memory. The controller supports program burning to backup memory to allow automatic loading of user programs on power cycle. This prevents the removal of unnecessary PLC programs during integrate 1747-BA emptying. The battery is equipped with an LED indicator to indicate the battery’s charge status.
