1756-L61 Allen-Bradley ControlLogix controller

The Allen Bradley 1756-61 is a ControlLogix controller. It features 2MB of user memory and 478 kb of V/O memory, as well as an optional 128 MB of non-volatile storage memory, using a 1784-CF128 CompactFlash memory card. It is a chassis based controller that can be placed in any available slot in the 1756 ControlLogix chassis. Chassis compatible with this controller are 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13, and 1756-A17. It has an open housing and supports up to 250 controller connections. It also has a built-in RS-232 serial communication port. The protocols supported by the RS232 port are DF1 full/half duplex, ASCII, DF1 radio modem, Modbus via logic, and DH-485.
It has a maximum digital /O of 128,000, a maximum analog /O of 4,000, and a maximum total I/0 of 128,000. Controller tasks for the 1756-L61 include 32 tasks, 100 programs each, and Event tasks: all event triggers. The 1756-L61 features various communication options such as ControlNet, Data Highway Plus, EtherNet/P, DeviceNet, SynchLink, Remote VO, and third-party process and device networks. The current consumption of the 1756-L61 controller is 1200 mA at 5.1VDC and 14 mA at 24VDC. Power consumption is 3.5W and heat dissipation is 11.9
BTU/hr. It also has a continuous isolation voltage of 30V and was tested at 720V DC for 60 seconds. It operates at O to 60 degrees Celsius, stores at -40 to 85 degrees Celsius and has a maximum ambient air temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity is between 5% and 95% (non-condensing), vibration is 2g at 10 to 500Hz, and operating and non-operating shocks are 30 and 50 g respectively.

To communicate with the module, an RS232 communication cable is required. Communication suitable for this module is 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, right Angle connector to controller, direct to serial port, 3 m (9.84 ft). The module uses batteries to store user programs and data in its memory. For A series A controller, the appropriate battery is 1756-BA1, 1756-BATM, 1756-Bata, and for a Series B controller, the appropriate battery is 1756-BA2.
