Allen-Bradley1771-OFE2 is an analog output module for the 1771 product family. It features four (4) independently isolated analog output channels that provide a 4-20 mA output current signal. This module is commonly used to control final control element/piece (FCE) such as variable frequency drives (VFD), damper, shutters, valves, and other devices and fixtures. It can also be used to realize the output of the proportional + integral + differential (PID) controller to realize the automatic control of the analog loop. In addition, the module can be used to transmit signals to measuring, receiving and recording elements, such as signal isolators, signal converters, panel meters, data loggers and other similar instruments.
The 1771-OFE2 is installed on any 1771I/O chassis. It can be used as a local and remote /O module for the PLC 5 controller. It occupies a slot in the case and uses the 1771-WC field wiring arm. Each channel has a one-second 850VDC isolation rating, and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) setup time of up to 0.8ms. It has a backplane current consumption of 1.50 amps, power consumption of 7.9 watts, heat dissipation of 26.9BTU/ hour, and a maximum power consumption of 10 watts for adjacent slots. Use No. 12 stranded wire or solid wire with insulation thickness of 3/64 inch or 1.2 mm when connecting the output device to the channel of the analog output module. Belden 8761 cable is recommended. During installation into the chassis, ensure that the module keying Settings are 10 and 12/26 and 28. Tighten the wire terminal with a force of 7-9 LBS/inch.
The 1771-OFE2 module has 4 output channels, isolating 1000 volt independent isolated differential output. It requires A 5-volt 1.4-A power supply from the backplane of the I/O case, so no external power supply is required. BCD has a channel update time of 8 milliseconds per 4 channels and natural binary has a channel update time of 1.6 milliseconds per 4 channels. It has a maximum power consumption of 7.9 watts and a maximum heat dissipation of 26.9 BTU/ hour. The 1771-OFE2 includes a wiring arm for module replacement with continuous wire opening. It can be installed in any slot in the 1771/O case, and the keying strap must be snapped between pins 10 to 12 and 26 to 28 to secure the slot. The 1771-OFE2 module converts raw data into engineering units such as degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, gallons per minute, and pounds per square inch. For diagnostics, it performs a self-test at startup. If a fault occurs, the red fault indicator LED will light up and the green power status indicator LED will remain off. The 1771-0FE2 features 1500 volt photoelectric isolation to protect the system from overvoltage.
