GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CHS397 5 Slot The 5 main slots in the CPU base board include 1 CPU slot (which is the name of the base board) and 4 non-CPU slots (which can house I/O modules). The IC693CHS397 base board also has an I/O expansion bus connector on the far right edge, which can be used to expand the base board’s I/O communication capability beyond the processing capacity of four I/O slots. Expansion and remote baseboards can be connected to IC693CHS397 CPU baseboards as part of a large PLC system, but only one CPU baseboard can be in a PLC. The CPU substrate is always mounted on rack 0 of the PLC system. Because the IC693CHS397 CPU base supports modular cpus, the CPU module can be easily replaced or upgraded if necessary.
