IC694MDL655 is a discrete input module on Emerson Automation’s PACSystem RX3i controller platform, previously produced by GE Intelligent Platforms (GE IP). The module is a high-density discrete input module with thirty-two (32) digital (binary) operating input channels designed to receive 7.0 mA current at 24 DC nominal or 0-30 VDC input voltage ranges and rated voltage. The module is usually used to connect on/off switches similar to binary operating devices, such as auxiliary contacts, proximity photoelectric sensors and other devices.

The IC694MDL655 is a single-slot module that can be installed directly into an empty slot in the PACSystem RX3i backplane. It can be installed to local racks or distributed I/O stations. The number of modules installed is limited by the amount of processor memory or the slots available on the substrate.

IC694MDL655 is a positive and negative logic module. As such, it can be used in different regions, as some countries support positive logic while others support anti-logic. Positive logic refers to the positive line connected to the module input channel, while the negative line ends to the common terminal. The connection of negative logic is reversed.

IC694MDL655 input channel is divided into four (4) input, each group of eight (8) input. Module isolation is done within groups, allowing groups to be connected independently based on application requirements. The module’s isolation ratings are 250 VAC continuously and 1500 VAC 1 minute between the backplane and rack ground, while the module’s intergroup isolation is 50 VAC continuously and 500 VAC 1 minute.

The IC694MDL655 input module comes with 32 input points and can operate with both positive and negative logic, making it versatile enough to be used for different applications and different types of devices, regardless of the type of logic required. The module has an input current of 7.0 mA, a voltage of 24 volts DC, and an operating voltage of 11.5 to 30 volts DC. This module does not include any communication modules for any CPU. The 32 input lines are divided into four groups. The maximum cable length used by this module shall not exceed 30 meters.
