IC697CPX935 Single slot PLC CPU
The IC697CPX935 is a single-slot PLC CPU with three built-in serial ports manufactured by GE Automation and Controls. It can control the system in real time. Using the VMEC.1 format, the IC697CPX935 can communicate with different Smart Options modules via a rack-mounted backplane. The device is operated by a three-position run/stop control switch or by connecting to a computer running the appropriate software.
A 96MHz microprocessor allowed the device to perform floating-point calculations every 0.4 microseconds. This device supports any mixture of 12K I/O and up to 8K analog I/O. The IC697CPX935 supports the following modules: discrete and analog I/O modules for the entire IC697 family, programmable and alphanumeric display coprocessors, IC660 and IC661 bus controller modules, link and LAN interface modules, and communication modules.
Supports 1 Megabyte of on-board RAM memory and is maintained by IC697ACC701 battery. Flash memory (NVRAM) is also supported, with up to 256 KB available for user data. The system firmware is stored in flash memory. Updating the firmware does not require removing the device or replacing the EPROM.
IC697CPX935 is configured through a connected computer running MS-DOS or Win 95 or Win NT software applications. You can connect to this programmer computer through a serial, parallel, or Ethernet interface. No dual-in-line package (DIP) switches or jumpers are required. Operation Settings are protected by the software password on the programming computer or by the memory protection switch of the device itself.
