Ge Multiwire’s UR6DH is a digital I/O module with 16 unit contact inputs from a family of universal relays
that can replace existing modules or provide new functionality for a given system. This digital I/O module
allows relays to communicate with equipment in the power system without the need for expensive hard wiring.
The communication and parameters collected by the UR6DH module allow better interaction with GE Multilin’s
flagship software EnerVista UR program, which provides a much improved user interface compared to the
simple keyboard and LCD methods. EnerVista provides viewpoint monitoring and viewpoint maintenance tools
to easily edit Settings related to digital I/O communication and module functionality.
This particular module contains only Form-C contacts; Users should ensure that they do not need Form-A or
fast Form-C before purchasing this model. Similar digital I/O modules in the series offer A combination of Forma
and Form-C(or fast Form-C) contacts that provide greater variability for the system, so potential buyers should consider their system requirements before making a decision.
Arger Multi-wire UR-6DH Digital Input/Output UR Series universal relay module is a special type of digital
input/output module that can be found in UR series universal relays. Unique universal relays have different applications.
Some, such as the Multilin L60 Line Phase comparison system, provide protection for lines and cables with different
voltage characteristics. Other systems, such as the B30 bus-differential system, provide impedance biased bus-differential protection for the feeder.
Regardless of the specific type of general-purpose relay and the specific terminal application, most if not all general-purpose
relays include a digital I/O module in order to provide variable contact input and contact output for general-purpose relays.
Different digital I/O modules have models that specify the ordering options for the module and therefore the specific types of
contact outputs and inputs that the module can provide for general purpose relays and wider system applications.
If the order code includes a Form-A card, then digital I/O relays will have very low activation speeds, which may be beneficial
to the end user. If the digital card has an output of mechanical latches, the system may not require mechanical switches or locking relays.
