IC698CPE030 is a 600 MHz CPU (central processing unit) produced by GE Fanuc for the RX7i series. Featured features of the IC698CPE030 include battery pack user memory and non-volatile flash memory for data, large memory access, configurable data/program memory, and automatic location of symbolic variables, among others. The CPU supports the 90-70 Series of discrete and analog I/O, communications, and other modules, including VME modules. The CPU has a Pentium-M microprocessor. It has 64 MB of user memory and user flash. As an RX7i CPU, the IC698CPE030 is configured to control processes and material handling structures in real time. The IC698CPE030 unit communicates with the I/O and Smart Option Modules through a rack-mount backplane using the VME64 standard format. For communication with the programmer and different HMI devices, the embedded Ethernet port is used. A serial port using the SNP Slave protocol can also be used for communication.
