National Instruments produces the PXIe-1084 (Part Numbers: 786397-01, 784058-01), a high-performance

test and measurement chassis intended to satisfy a range of industrial application requirements. It enables

versatility in instrumentation module placement with an all-hybrid backplane and a hybrid connector type in

each peripheral slot. The PXIe-1084 has a strong power and cooling system that can offer up to 58 W of power

and cooling, which means it can operate dependably even in harsh conditions. Its forced air circulation system,

which consists of one 70 CFM fan and three 210 CFM fans, keeps the power supply and module temperatures at ideal levels.

With an operational voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC, the chassis accommodates a broad AC input voltage

range of 100 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Additionally, with a typical efficiency of 85%, it can handle an input

frequency range of 47 to 440 Hz. For enhanced timing and synchronization capabilities, the PXIe-1084 offers

an option for external clock and trigger routing, facilitated by a rear-panel 15-pin connector and inhibit mode switch.

When it comes to environmental adaptability, the chassis operates within an ambient temperature range

of 0°C to 50°C for peripheral slots with up to 38 W power consumption per slot and 0°C to 40°C for slots

with up to 58 W power consumption per slot. It satisfies the low and high temperature tolerances of

MIL-PRF-28800F Class 3. The chassis can sustain operational random vibration at 0.3 grms from 5 to 500 Hz and operational shock up to 30 g peak.

The non-operational vibration tolerance exceeds MIL-PRF-28800F Class 3 criteria, ranging from 5 to

500 Hz at 2.4 grms. The PXIe-1084 is equipped with a 10 MHz System Reference Clock (PXI_CLK10)

for system synchronization. Its precision spans the working temperature range and has a maximum

slot-to-slot skew of 250 ps. It keeps the unloaded signal swing at 3.3 V ±0.3 V, duty factor between

45% and 55%, and maximum jitter of 5 ps RMS phase-jitter within the 10 Hz–1 MHz range.
